Why It's Critical to Address Depression in the Workplace

 

Marcas Miles is Senior Director, Marketing & Communications at Employers Health. He leads all marketing and communication efforts, focusing his strengths on strategic development of resources that provide information and value to the organization's members. Publications, marketing communications, public relations and media relations are some of the responsibilities that fall under his umbrella. In his role, he works to develop solutions for employers that help make their job of communicating and delivering benefits more streamlined and impactful.

 

Marcas' previous experience includes serving as director of public relations and marketing for a large northeast Ohio not-for-profit agency. His media experience includes a stint serving as a radio news personality reporting daily events and stories. He has worked in radio promotions, organization marketing, and events and promotions. Marcas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Malone University.

 

Marcas is active in the community as immediate past Chairman of Access Health Stark County, board member with Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Impact Council Volunteer at The United Way of Greater Stark County, Chairman of the Professional Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Drum Corps International Competition and member of the Akron Children's Hospital Emerging Leaders Board.

Specialty Pharmacy Trends

 

Nick Taylor is a State of Ohio registered pharmacist with 20 years of experience.   His experience ranges from retail pharmacy to PBM mail pharmacy, clinical program operations and more than 10 years of working directly with clients helping them manage their pharmacy benefit.    He spent 17 years at Medco Health working with a broad range of clients from Employers and Taft Hartley Labor Unions to large State Government Accounts.   Nick is the current Mid-Atlantic Regional pharmacist for Cigna responsible for Cigna pharmacy clients in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.  On the personal side Nick was born and raised in Warren, Ohio, received his pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University in Ada and lives in Columbus with his wife and three daughters.

 

Larry Boress

Larry Boress is President & CEO of the Midwest Business Group on Health, one of the nation’s leading non-profit business coalitions. Founded in 1980, the Chicago-based MBGH is composed of over 120 major, self-funded, public and private employers having headquarters or employee populations in the Chicago metropolitan area. These firms provide health benefits for over 4 million lives, spending over $4 billion each year for their covered populations.

 

Mr. Boress oversees all of MBGH’s educational, networking, group purchasing, research and advocacy activities. He assists member companies in the development and implementation of benefit and engagement strategies, onsite clinics, CDHPs, pharmacy benefits, worksite wellness programs and evaluating the performance of providers and health plans.

 

In addition to leading MBGH, he serves as Executive Director of the National Association of Worksite Health Centers, a trade association for employer sponsors on onsite and near-site clinics and fitness centers, and is a co-founder of the Private Exchange Evaluation Collaborative, an objective source of information and services for employers exploring private exchange strategies and contracting.

 

In his formal training, he received a Masters in Public Administration from Roosevelt University and a Bachelors of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University. Larry also is a Certified Association Executive. Prior to joining MBGH in 1991, he spent 17 years at the Illinois State Medical Society.  During that time, he assisted physicians in their practices and represented the medical profession in its relationships with hospitals, regulatory agencies and affiliated professional organizations.

 

Kimberly Harrell

Kimberly is an experienced human resources professional and proactive business partner with more than 15 years of experience providing full-service HR consultation and direction to executives, managers and employees for various organizations.   

In March 2012, Kimberly joined Willis after serving in HR consulting roles for the past 7 years. Kimberly's diverse HR background has enabled her to bring an innovative, practical and fresh perspective to HR issues. She has consulted with companies across a wide variety of industries, including health care, professional services, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and non-profit. Kimberly’s specialties include Employment Law, Employee Relations, Performance Management, and Training and Development.  Kimberly’s background includes senior-level positions in human resources and client relations at Fortune 500 companies, such as ADP and Paychex. 

 

Kimberly earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Professional Writing and Journalism, in 1996 and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development from Western Carolina University in 1999. She is active in both the Society for Human Resource Development and WorldatWork. 

Presenter Overview:

Jack has over 30 years of corporate benefits leadership at companies including Nationwide, Tenneco Oil E&P, Cooper Industries, Marathon Oil, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Jack is a lawyer, licensed in Ohio, obtaining his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in Houston.  He earned his MBA and BBA (Business Economics) at Cleveland State University.  Jack has the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Designation and attained Fellowship status in 1992.  Jack is currently a Master of Laws (LLM) candidate in Employee Benefits from John Marshall College of Law in Chicago.

 Jack is a frequent speaker and also serves as instructor/adjunct at The Ohio State University, Franklin University, James A. Rhodes State College, Marion Technical College, and for the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist program.
