Business Basics 101: Starting Off on the Right Foot 

Do you dream of turning your creative passion and talent into income?  Do you want to build a successful jewelry business, but you're unsure of where to start?

Then the Business Basics 101 workshop is for you.  This one-day workshop will help you get started on the path towards success.

Discussion Topics include:

- Getting Organized:  Record Keeping & Tax Basics

- Calculating Your Hourly Rate

- Pricing to Thrive, Not Just Survive

- Managing Your Inventory

Participants will create a pricing and organizing plan that is just the right size for their goals.

All participant should bring the following items to the workshop:

Notebook/Sketchbook

Pens or Pencils

Laptop computer or iPad (if available)

Examples, or high quality photos, of participants' artwork

Calculator

Registration is 9:00am to 9:30am.  The workshop will begin at 9:30am.  Beverages will be provided along with lunch, which will start at 12:00pm and end at 1:00pm.

About the instructor:

Michelle Pajak-Reynolds has run a successful Couture and Art Jewelry business for over a decade. Her collections have been featured in numerous exhibitions, publications, red carpet events, and worn by celebrities.

Michelle is also passionate about helping her fellow artist entrepreneurs live their dream.  She writes and consults about business issues related to artists and the arts on her blog, eMERGE: A Business Blog for Creative People.  eMERGE has a global following and is used in professional practices classes at prominent art schools throughout the US.

Michelle earned a BFA in Jewelry and Metals from Kent State University and will complete her Entrepreneurship MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College in May 2012.
