Monadnock Family Business Summit

The Monadnock Family Business Summit will bring together a number of family business experts, including scholars, consultants, lawyers, accountants and bankers as well as experienced family business owners to discuss the strengths and challenges inherent to family business.

Attendees will leave the seminar with an awareness of the big (and small) issues that have brought down family businesses in the past, many ideas for strengthening and preparing their family business for the future, and a new support network for helping solve specific problems related to family business.

There will also be opportunities for family business managers and owners to give feedback to the facilitators regarding their needs and what resources they would like available in our community to better support family businesses.

Keynote Speaker:

Michael R. Braun, MA, MBA, PhD. is an associate professor of management and the Poe Family Faculty Fellow at the University of Montana. He is a founder of the Family Enterprise Montana Forum and North American editor for the Journal of Family Business Management. He is co-author of Mastering Strategy: Workshops for Business Success (2014), Praeger Publishers.

Mike will speak on the state of family business in the global economy and the challenge of formulating strategy in the family business context.

Panel Discussion:

Barbara Draper from the UNH Family Business Center will join several family business owners who are willing to open up and share stories about their most important challenges pertinent to family business and how they overcame them, and share strategies for running a successful family business.
