Are you anxious about doing something "wrong" on your computer? Do you get frustrated with yourself or the computer? Where did you learn how to use a computer? Why is it that we think we should simply be able to sit down and use it without any instruction? We don't learn to drive cars by simply getting behind the driving wheel! 

Computers are a private experience and unless someone has been available to answer your questions or you are very good at reading instructions, there's a good chance that there are better ways to do things than what you're doing.  

In this session, you'll learn basic principles that will help you be comfortable. Bring your questions. If you can, bring your digital device, and bring your lunch! 

Annamarie Pluhar has been using computers since 1984 — thirty years! She is equally comfortable on a PC and on a Mac, iPhones and iPads. She uses a huge variety of software for the range of tasks she does in her professional and personal life. At Hannah Grimes she has offered brown bags in her capacity as an instructional designer and author of Sharing Housing, A Guidebook for Finding and Keeping Good Housemates.
