Discuss best practices which can enable a company to act quickly and efficiently once it is faced with litigation. Panelists will offer practical advice on devising strategies based on the company's goals, defining preferences and expectations with regard to communication, staffing, discovery, and billing, as well as limiting the costs associated with the inevitable tasks required of litigators. The panel will offer techniques to mitigate the effects of eventual litigation without negatively impacting day-to-day business operations or compromising results.
Privacy and Data Breach Issues
A cybersecurity expert will provide updates on the quickly-evolving landscape relating to data privacy and cybersecurity. This session will discuss obligations imposed by law upon companies who receive and/or store personal data, including new obligations created by the GDPR. 

Lessons from the Trenches - What Judges Think In-House Counsel Should Know to Better Represent Their Corporate Clients
The Honorable Janet R. Burnside and The Honorable John J. Russo from the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas will share practical tips on a variety of issues including alternative dispute resolution, discovery issues, how to help your outside counsel put your best foot forward, judicial pet peeves and other important issues.  
*This course has been approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 3.75 total CLE hours, with 1.50 of attorney professional conduct instruction.
