Cancellation/Refund Policy: Tickets cancelled more than 7 days prior to the day of the tour will receive a full refund. Any cancellations made 7 days or less before the day of your tour will only be refunded if your ticket(s) can be resold before the day of the tour.

Requests to change your tour date or time: If, after you purchase your tickets you would like to change the date or time of your tour to another one that is offered, you must contact the NCHS Office at info@newcastlehistory.org or by calling 302-322-2794. Requests for date/time changes will only be made on a space available basis. Due to the limited number of people who can participate in each time slot, and how quickly our tours sell out, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to exchange your purchased tickets for a tour on another date/time. We will do our best to accommodate you if your plans change. However, if we cannot move you to another date/time that works for you, please note the Cancellation/Refund Policy that is listed above.

Group Tours: If you are part of a smaller group, we strongly suggest having one person purchasing all of the tickets at one time to ensure that you can all be on the tour together. If this is not possible, please inform the NCHS office at info@newcastlehistory.org or by calling 302-322-2794 of the names of the people in your group so that we can try to make sure you are not split up.

For groups of 20 or more, you can schedule a private group tour on a non-public tour night. Please contact the NCHS office to find out what dates and times are available!

2019 Hauntings in History Walking Tours

Are you brave enough to explore the darker side of New Castle history? Join the New Castle Historical Society this October for the only ghost tour that brings you inside one of the most haunted mansions of Historic New Castle

On your journey, you'll explore New Castle's supernatural side with a tour of one of the town's most haunted houses, the Amstel House. Here, legend has it that you may meet the "Lady in Blue." You will also be guided through New Castle's darkened streets and alleyways where you will hear macabre tales of hauntings,  funeral customs, and crime & punishment that span the 360-year history of this Delaware River town.

Tours are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in length and will depart from The Arsenal. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable footwear. Flashlights are recommended.

This is an adult oriented tour. For those interested in bringing children, we suggest that this tour has at least a PG-13 rating.

This is a prepaid event and tickets must be purchased in advance.  Space and dates are limited, and these tours will sell out! All tour participants, including children, require a ticket.

Please note that tours will not be cancelled due to rain.
