New Castle's History and Heritage 

As we look back at our 86^th year at the New Castle Historical Society, it’s safe to say that it was been a year like no other. Like so many other individuals, families, businesses and community organizations, the plans we made for the year were cancelled, delayed or modified as we adapted quickly to the challenges of 2020. One thing has not changed however – our commitment to our mission, our members and visitors, and our community.

While the first half of 2021 is looking much like last year, we are working diligently to plan for the rest of this year and beyond. We have a new administrative structure and new staff members to help us prepare for the challenges ahead. We are looking at innovative and creative ways to bring New Castle’s history alive through our programs, communication channels, and the way we use our museums and gardens. Of course, we continue to preserve the historic buildings and landscapes that have been entrusted to us.

We are also working hard to ensure that the New Castle Historical Society remains a financially stable and sustainable organization through our efforts to maximize our earned revenue, individual fundraising and support from businesses, foundations and governments. For this, we need your help.
