2022 Virginia Certified Ecotour Guide Course Registration 

"Live” virtual classes weekly on Tuesdays JANUARY 25 - MARCH 15 from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Successful students will meet participation requirements, pass quizzes, submit a final project, & attend a field trip on Saturday April 2nd or April 9th. (Please note event dates listed under the "When" section are incorrect).

This eight-week class, offered “live” online will provide successful students with certification credentials to lead their own Ecotours in coastal Virginia and 3 CEUs processed by Rappahannock Community College and Eastern Shore Community College. The class focuses on aspects of ecotourism, including: ecosystem science, customer service, business marketing, interpretation skills, culture, and natural history. Fee includes mandatory spring field trip hosted in one of the coastal regions.

Guest speaker presentations will be incorporated into the course along with active discussion. Interpretive materials and resources for the course will be provided. In order to qualify for ecotourism certification, CPR & First Aid Certification is required and can be obtained at the student’s convenience.
