- About the Event - The City of Thousand Oaks permanent Household Hazardous Waste Facility offers residents of Thousand Oaks and unincorporated Ventura County weekly opportunities for disposal of unwanted toxic household waste.
- Who Can Attend - Thousand Oaks and Ventura County Unincorporated Residents can use this facility to dispose of unwanted hazardous materials during operating hours - by appointment only.

- Identification required upon entry (valid driver's license or utility bill).
- LOCATION - The City's Hazardous Waste Facility is located at 2010 Conejo Center Drive, Newbury Park, 91320 (next to the City Municipal Service Center).
You may bring any of the materials listed to the left under "Accepted Materials". NOTE: It is against the law to transport more than 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste at any one time.
Register Early! Online registration for this event will close at 12 noon on Thursday, February 18th.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Why do I need an appointment? Appointments are necessary to ensure adequate staffing at the facility and minimize your wait time.
- How long will it take to drop off material? Up to 100 cars an hour can be processed, so a short wait of 5-10 minutes should be expected. Wait times are typically shortest for late morning appointments.
- How do I bring my waste to the event? Make sure that your waste is being transported in safe, secure containers and that any sharps (needles) are secure. When you arrive at the event, staff will unload materials from your vehicle. If you have any questions about safely packaging and transporting materials, please contact Public Works at GoGreen@toaks.org.

How much waste can I bring to the event at one time? You are responsible for safely transporting materials from your residence to the event. It is against the law to transport more than 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste at any one time.

Can I participate if I do not live in Thousand Oaks or an unincorporated Ventura County area?
No. The program is only available to City of Thousand Oaks and unincorporated Ventura County residents. Please check your local government website to see programs in your area.
