Saturday July 20 from 5:30 - 8:30 pm aboard the Dolphin Fleet, Provincetown 

A perennial favorite! Join PCCS staff and friends for a private evening cruise aboard the Dolphin Fleet. Enjoy a gourmet picnic dinner, beer, wine and soft drinks.  Proceeds benefit the Center’s research, rescue and education programs.

WHALE WEEK! A Celebration of the Sea

July 29 - August 3 in and around Provincetown

Fun, free, family-friendly events with a marine theme! Meet the critters that inhabit the tidal flats, take a walk to visit a seal haul-out, go on a scavenger hunt, or step inside Delilah, the life-sized inflatable Right Whale! Take a break from the crowds and see a children's theater performance of the Tale of Ibis, the first whale to be disentangled by the Center, or take in a lecture on the whales of Cape Cod. If you’re feeling brave, gather a team and enter the Build Your Own Boat Race. Whatever you do, you'll have a whale of a time!  

Meet Delilah
Monday July 29, 11AM, at the Hiebert Marine Lab, 5 Holway Ave. Meet Delilah. Step inside a life size right whale while learning about these amazing animals. Registration is not necessary. Suggested donation $5

Home Made Boat Race 

Monday, July 29, 5:00PM, adjacent to Fisherman's Pier in front of the Crown and Anchor Inn. Prizes will be awarded! Register by contacting Venture Athletics at 508-487-9442 or download the form here. Tidal Flats Foray
Tuesday, July 30, 12:00PM, at the West End Breakwater. Explore the tidal flats with PCCS. Every twelve hours, the tides of the Outer Cape retreat to reveal an exciting world of hidden creatures. Tidal flats are highly productive systems that support large numbers of animals. . All ages are welcome and reservations are not necessary. Get your feet wet and discover the secret world of tidal flats with a PCCS. Free.

Scavenger Hunt
Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday July 31, 10:30AM. Did you know that Provincetown was one of the leading whaling ports in the nation in the 19th Century or that it once had more than 50 wharfs and more than 200 fishing vessels? Did you also know that East Coast whale watching began right here, or that the first entangled free swimming whale was rescued right in Provincetown Harbor? Learn about the rich maritime history of Provincetown through a family-friendly scavenger hunt. Registration is required. Free

The Tale of IBIS
Wednesday July 31, 4:00PM. Children's theater production. This live action/puppet production retells the story of the first whale successfully disentangled by PCCS, followed by a Q&A with Dr. Charles "Stormy" Mayo. Provincetown Town Hall. Content is suitable for all ages. Registration is not necessary. Sponsored by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.

Search for Seals 
Wednesday, July 31, 12:30PM, at the Province Lands Visitor Center. A number of different species of seals occupy New England's waters. PCCS will offer a naturalist led seal walk to search for seals on the Outer Beaches of Cape Cod. Please register by calling the Province Lands Visitor Center at 508.487.1256. Reservations are required. Free.

Thursday, Aug 1, 11-12 PM, at the Province Lands Visitor Center. Lecture: Whales of Cape Cod. Registration is not necessary. Free.

Whale Games and Arts and Crafts
Friday, Aug 2, 10AM, Bas Relief Park, Provincetown. Marine themed games and competitions for kids of all ages 5-12. Arts and crafts activities. Registration is not necessary. Free.

WHALE EXTRAVAGANZA! A Whale of a Drag Show!

August 1 at Town Hall, Provincetown

Whale Extravaganza! is a spectacular drag show to benefit for the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies and the whale conservation efforts of the World Wildlife Fund. Whale Extravaganza will be hosted by Brini Maxwell and feature RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni Raja, Tammie Brown, and Jinkx Monsoon; Boston drag queens Rainbow Frite and Raquel Blake; and Provincetown’s own Susan Boil!

Meet & Greet/Drinks from 7-8PM, Performance Act I from 8-8.45PM, Intermission & Auction from 8.45-9.15PM, Performance Act II from 9.15-10PM.

All net proceeds will benefit the organizations’ whale conservation programs.

WHALE CAMP FOR KIDS!

August 5 - 7  from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Hiebert Marine Lab, 5 Holway Avenue, Provincetown and aboard the Dolphin Fleet

PCCS is excited to announce two new three-day summer camps for kids ages 8-12 to learn about the wonderful world of whales and the ocean.  Highlights include the chance to step inside a life size North Atlantic right whale, learn what it’s like to disentangle whales and turtles, be able to identify whales by their distinctive markings, whale art and more. The camp culminates in a whale watch aboard the Dolphin Fleet.  Participants will  meet whale researchers and members of PCCS Marine Animal Disentanglement Team.  Participation is limited and pre-registration is required.  Fee is  $150 members / $175 non-members.  Cape Cod students receive a $20 discount.
