KYSITE Leadership Class - Fall 2014

As first introduced in the e-newsletter two weeks ago, the Kentucky Section of ITE will be hosting a Leadership Class this Fall.  The training is unique in that it is led by seasoned transportation professionals and involves considerable interaction between instructors/facilitators and participants.  The class has been successfully implemented in most other Southern District ITE (SDITE) Sections.  In many instances, the class has been offered multiple times.  Instructors will be SDITE members from Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee.

The class is broken into two sessions.  General Butler State Park has been selected as the location
for the training.

Scheduling / tentative agenda for the two sessions are as follows:

- Session 1:  Monday, September 15 to Tuesday, September 16, 2014

- Session 2:  Monday, October 13 to Tuesday, October 14, 2014

The tentative outline for each session is as follows:

Day 1

  • 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM – Sessions
  • 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Dinner
  • 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM – Team Building Exercise (September Session Only)

Day 2

  • 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM – Breakfast
  • 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Sessions
  • 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Lunch

The class will be open to public, private, and academic professionals but the number of attendees is limited to
15 participants is limited.  Availability is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to class size limitations, we ask that private firms (consultants) submit only one candidate representing that firm.

The cost for the class will be $125 and includes registration, snacks during breaks on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning of each session, and session materials.

Other costs that may be incurred by attendees would be lodging at the State Park and meals at the restaurant
(breakfast, lunch and dinner are available). For those wishing to stay at General Butler State Park, rooms are available Sunday and Monday nights at a cost of approximately $75 per night (including tax and resort fee).  For
lodging at both sessions as well as meals, we would estimate the costs to be an additional $270 in addition to the $125 registration (a total of approximately $395 for expenses).

For those out of town, rooms will be available on Sunday night if you want to come a little early to enjoy the
State Park.

We appreciate your interest in the class and look forward to hearing from you.
