Play is so very important to children’s overall development. We will discuss what rough and tumble play means, how it looks, why it is important, and possible ways to allow it with children. Overall motor development will be discussed and the presenter will share ideas to help support children’s fine motor skills.

Learn about the legal aspects (such as mandated reporting), compliance (licensing rules, city codes), and interpersonal relationships (staff, parents, volunteers, etc.), and more from a seasoned early care and education professional.

Learn about the 5 ingredients of Active Learning: Materials; Manipulation; Choice; Child Communication, Language and Thought; and Adult Scaffolding. Participants will explore ways to include active learning in their environments, adult-child interactions, curriculum and daily routines.
