2019 ASHI Western Washington Spring Seminar

Saturday, March 16, 2019 

Join us as we head to the UW Tacoma Campus for the 2019 ASHI Western Washington Spring Seminar on Saturday, March 16, 2019. A one-day seminar worth 8 continuing education credits, already approved by the WSDOL and National ASHI. The Tacoma Campus is a new venue for us with a 20-foot screen for easy viewing of the PowerPoint presentations. We are excited to see some of the changes in downtown Tacoma.

3 pm to 5 pm              Buell Inspections - INSPECTION FUNDAMENTALS, SAFETY, & BETTER SERVICE

Approved for 8 Continuing Education credits by Washington State Department of Licensing (Course #526).  Approved by ASHI National and Alaska;  credits also apply for Oregon. 

 

About Our Speakers

Steve Bodine is the owner of Bodine Construction Services, Inc. While in his teens, Steve started installing foundations working with his dad.  He has been in the drainage business for the past 35 years, with an emphasis on drainage repairs.  Steve has a strong understanding of all drainage/foundation building issues and helps homeowners and builders resolve drainage and foundation structural issues.  His firm employs 35 people, working primarily in King and Snohomish counties.    Ken Harris has worked with Bodine Construction almost from the start of the business and has been instrumental in the growth and expertise of the firm. 

John Jensen is the President of Jensen Roofing Company Inc. based in Seattle.  Founded in 1988, the business specializes in tile roof maintenace, repair, and consulting.  With 30+ years of experience, John is a recognized expert in the industry.  He is the National Training Manager for the Tile Roofing Institute (TRI).  TRI offers classroom certification for contractors, inspectors and consultants, along with mock-up and jobsite hands-on-training.  Jensen Roofing also provides service and training to other roofing companies, manufacturers, and property management firms nationally in addition to providing over 450 residential and commercial building owners with maintenance and repair services in the Pacific Northwest.

Justin Fox started with Simpson Strong-Tie in 2008 as a Dealer Sales Representative in the Virginia - DC area.  In 2011, he moved to the Denver area working with local lumber yards, wholesale distributors, building jurisdictions, building designers and specifiers.  He moved to the Seattle area in 2014 as the territory manager, working with local building jurisdictions, commercial dealers, wholesale distributors, residential and commercial builders, building designers, architects, and engineers in Western Washington and Alaska.  He is currently a member of the SEAW and treasurer of the Western Washington chapter of the ICC.   

Charles Buell began his design/builder career after garduating from SUNY Oswego, NY.  He taught carpentry in his spare time.  Charlie continues to teach home inspection courses at Bellingham Technical College.  He is a licensed home inspector in Washington state, a licensed structural pest inspector, and ASHI certified inspector.  Charlie currenly serves on the ASHI National Technical Review Committee.

Registration includes breakfast and lunch buffets.

An all-day parking voucher will be available at check-in for the Cragle lot (21st and C Street) only.  Additional parking is available in the lot west of Cragle and on the street (not covered by vouchers).

Cancellation Policy

Notice of cancellation must be submitted via email to ashichapter@gmail.com.  Cancellations received by February 28, 2019 will be refunded in full.  Cancellations received by March 9 are subject to a $50 service charge.  No refunds will be made for cancellations after March 9, 2019.
