Plant trees in Camden's Butterfly Park!

On May 7th, the NJ Tree Foundation, Fellowship House, Camden residents, and volunteers will join forces from 9am-12pm to plant 30 beautiful trees at Fellowship House's new Butterfly Park! These trees will compliment a new playground and revitalized green space for Camden youth, primarily those enrolled in Fellowship House's after-school program and summer camps.  There is also work to be done in a nearby vacant lot (soon to be vegetable garden) and painting of rain barrels.

Following the tree planting, there will be a ceremony with Mayor Dana Redd, dedicating a tree in memory of Anjanea Williams, a young woman who lost her life in a violent shooting a few months ago in Camden.

Tools, training, water, and gloves will be provided by the NJ Tree Foundation. Please wear sturdy shoes and clothes you can get dirty. Come have fun with us! Please note we do plant rain or shine. Supervisor contact information: Jessica Franzini: 856-287-4488.

We recognize that sustainability includes more than just the planet.  We value the connection that we have to our neighbors, particulary to Camden.  Did you know that all the trash and sewage from Camden County goes straight to Camden? There is "no away".  This event is hosted by The Regional/Urban Partnerships for Sustainabiltiy (RUPS) task force of Sustainable Cherry Hill. The mission of RUPS is to engage in partnerships with neighboring towns and cities in order to promote sustainability, broadly defined as causing and maintaining the well being of people in their environments. This task force includes people from numerous towns and we welcome your participation.  We meet the third Thursday of each month at 7pm at Lori Braunstein's house in Cherry Hill.  Email Lori if you are interested in joining our group.

We are hoping to provide 25-30 volunteers and ask that you register below so that we can keep track of our numbers.  Thank you!
