FLAGS Active Support Unit at Oxford Pride 2017 

 

Thank you for registering for FLAGS Active Support Unit & Oxford County Scouts at Oxford Pride 2017 and supporting inclusive Scouting.

Below is an overview of the plans for Oxford  Pride that we would like to share with you (these might change nearer the time but will let you know)

 

Itinerary (TBC) 

• 10;30 - Welcome meeting 
• 11:00 TBC - Parade kicks off through the streets of Oxford  (please be prepared we will be standing around for aprox 1-hr as the parade kicks off and moves towards the starting point)
• 16:00 APROX Parade finish and all kit to be returned to the meeting point

 

#Scoutpride Parade  

Please remember you will be representing The Scout Association and we may have young people attending with us. Please act as you would at any other Scout event, including following the Yellow Card and refraining from smoking, drinking and eating when on the parade and when you are in view of the public (including the stall).  Help us show the public that Scouting is fun and welcoming and open to all #scouting4all

 

Interaction

Please do interact with the crowd - smile, wave, etc.  (This is really important)

If you see filming taking place & photos being taken along the route, it'd be great if you're happy to, to smile and wave. There's a chance you may see a few protestors along the route - please just ignore them.

 

Weather

At the minute it's looking like a pretty good weather forecast but as you know the British weather could always change so please make sure you stay warm, have sun location with you and a bottle of water.

 

Social Media

FLAGS Active support unit uses 3 main platforms for social media, if you do take any pictures, video's then please upload or "like&share" / Retweet others on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

Uniform & Bags

For Oxford Pride the uniform is purple iscout t-shirts and FLAGS rainbow neckers, If you have not got a purple i.scout t-shirt then these can be purchased via Scout shops

If you do not have a FLAGS necker then these can be purchased at:

If you would like to wear your group or county necker as well then this is totally fine, it doesn't matter what you wear for trousers or shorts but make sure you wear comfortable footwear ie trainers or shoes. Please make sure you travel light for the parade as we don't have any storage.

 

After the Parade

Once the parade has finished & kit returned everyone is free to enjoy the festivities and fun of Oxford  Pride,
