Are you supporting people to find employment or looking for employment? If you or individuals you work with receive disability benefits, this training is for you! Learn basics of SSI/SSDI and work incentives that can apply to benefits. This course is a 4-hour training for (but not limited to...) employment providers, advocates, teachers, payees.
This training will be held in Davenport, IA. A certificate of completion will be provided.
Learners will have a one-hour break to have lunch on their own during the event.

Intended Audience:
Presenter will be Mistie Johnson, CWIC from Disability Rights Iowa. Mistie also serves as Vice President of Iowa APSE.
WIPA Project Director, Community Work Incentives Coordinator- Mistie Johnson holds MBA from Walden University. Mistie follows her passion for serving people with disabilities both personally and professionally. Having several family members who live life to the fullest every day with disabilities, she works tirelessly to ensure that they have a voice through a strong connection with the disability and advocacy arena. Mistie lead efforts to reduce employment barriers for transition age youth and young adults with disabilities by collaborating with local employers while working as an Employment Training Specialist within the WIOA Youth Program. During her time with IowaWORKS North Iowa, Mistie also facilitated that Region’s Employment Network, providing support for Ticket to Work Program participants, and is a former Disability Navigator under the Navigator Grant for Iowa. Mistie is currently the Project Director and a Community Work Incentives Coordinator for the Work Incentives Planning and Assistance program in Iowa. |
