From Moment to Narrative : A Mindfulness-Based Process Group Experience for Group Leaders

Date: December 2, 2022, 10:30am-4:30pm

Facilitator:  Dr. Stéphane Treyvaud

Together, participants of this small group will have a chance to closely examine their inner world from  a mindfulness perspective. Beginning with non-verbal process through meditation, over the course of the day we explore the arising of narratives, and eventually attempt to become comfortable with a flexible therapeutic attitude that shifts freely across the spectrum of non-verbal processing, narrative inquiry and group dynamic exploration.

Group members agree to participate for the whole duration of the group including debriefing and evaluation. This program is not intended to serve as therapy, yet there will be a degree of connection and personal disclosure that will naturally unfold as the members begin to get to know each other and interact as a group. Given this workshop’s nature of moment-by-moment awareness practice, participants are asked to prepare their lunch ahead of time and bring it to the workshop, as we will use the act of eating lunch together as an opportunity to explore the practice of mindful eating.

 Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

1)    Learn basic mindfulness meditation techniques.

2)    Challenge their familiar ways of constructing reality and learn to embrace uncertainty and creativity.

3)    Develop the capacity to get out of their own way and allow the organism to mobilize its own inherent         wisdom.

4)    Learn to appreciate the importance of conscious embodiment.

5)    Link personal subjective experiences with theoretical concepts.

6)    Witness a group leadership that encompasses both non-verbal processing and narrative exploration.
