Effective Nonprofit Advocacy: How to Prepare for the Legislative Reception & Beyond
This workshop, led by The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, will help you make the most of your interactions with legislators at the 2020 HSF Legislative Reception. Whether you’ve attended in the past or this is your first time, join us to learn how to have better quality, more effective conversations with your legislators at this year’s event.
Objectives:
- Understand the basics of the legislative process
- Learn best practices for communicating with legislators
- Learn where to find information about relevant legislation for your program
- Develop and practice an “elevator pitch” for your program’s legislative priorities
For staff, board, constituents/clients, family members, and volunteers of member agencies of the Human Service Forum, Hampshire Council of Social Agencies (COSA) & Franklin County Resource Network (FCRN).
