CMRPC and the Tri-EPIC Committee host a Chemical Safety Training on Thursday, April 12 at the Charlton Public Library

The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) and Tri-EPIC Regional Emergency Planning Committee (REPC) are excited to host a Chemical Safety training in the Charlton Public Library on Thursday, April 12th at 9:30 AM.

This FREE training will provide models for incorporating toxics use reduction into emergency preparedness and climate resiliency planning, including a review of State and Federal regulatory requirements. If you attended the first workshop for municipalities in September 2017, this upcoming workshop will provide similar resources however the session is intended to target hazardous chemical users and businesses in the Central region. The session aims to review local issues and supply businesses and communities with the tools they need to assess vulnerabilities, and prevent or address industrial accidents. Come learn about developing plans and templates to reduce toxics use, improve safety for your workers and community, and increase climate change resiliency! Speakers include:

  • Tiffany Skogstrom, MA Office of Technical Assistance and Technology (OTA)
  • Cora Roelofs, ScD., CR Researching-Consulting
  • Thomas Estabrook, PhD., The New England Consortium UMass Lowell (TNEC)
  • David Coffey, The New England Consortium, UMass Lowell (TNEC)
  • Joy Onasch, PE, Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI), UMass Lowell
  • Kathy Manson, MA Dept. of Industrial Accidents
  • Carl Ekman, Town of Charlton Emergency Mgmt. Director, Tri-EPIC
