This comprehensive course addresses all aspects of GD&T including a comparison to traditional tolerancing methods. The purpose of GD&T is to describe the geometric requirements for parts and assemblies. Proper application of GD&T will ensure that the allowable part and assembly geometry defined on engineering drawings leads to parts that have the desired form, fit, and function as intended. GD&T is a symbolic language used on engineering drawings and computer generated three-dimensional solid models for explicitly describing the geometry and its allowable variation. In this course, symbols are covered in detail, from the perspectives of design, manufacturing, and inspection with functional gages.
Participants will relate the learning to example client drawings.
