Introductory Statistics Using R 

An ISSR Short Course by Christopher Burns

Description:

This course is designed for social science researchers with little or no basic knowledge of R. Participants will be introduced to the R platform, learn how to write a script file, and interpret output in the console. The goal of the course is for participants to feel comfortable performing introductory statistical analysis in R and to build a basic understanding of R coding.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Create an R script file
  • Read in data from an outside file
  • Create summary statistics
  • Plot and graph useful features of data
  • Perform statistical tests
