Register for the NHE walkathon 2011
 - Movin' and Groovin'

The 2011 walkathon is coming soon!!!
Please start seeking donations now to support NHE in “movin’ and groovin” to raise money for the upcoming school year
When?  - Sept 23rd, 2:30-5 pm (back-to-school dinner follows immediately)
What is it?  - The Major fundraiser for NHE in 2011
  • students walk laps to earn money for the school and prizes for themselves!
  • One trip around the sandfield behind nhe=1 lap
  • Fundraising goal=$12,500 (estimated donation of $50 per participant)

A  Fabulous and fun community-building event!
Families are invited, but not required, to attend as nhe pta volunteers will be present. There will be 60’s and 70’s era music, games, interactive play with professional jumproping coaches, and treats. Nhe Students will receive free walkathon T-shirts and healthy snacks at school before beginning to walk laps.

An Opportunity to encourage fitness and educate our students
Our 2011 walkathon is based on some of the best things to come out of the 1960’s and 1970’s: equal rights for different races and genders, caring for our environment, living peacefully, and incorporating exercising into our lives to care for our bodies.

What do walkathon Donations support ?
All programs and materials supported by pta dollars, including science night, author night, field day, finding urban nature, classroom and fieldtrip grants, math/ reading assistance programs, etc.

How can I make a donation?
Students can request donations from family members, relatives, neighbors, or friends in the form of cash, credit card, or checks made payable to NHE PTA. (Students should be accompanied by an adult if seeking donations outside of the home. )

Donations can be made as a lump sum or based upon an agreed upon dollar amount for each lap walked by your student.

Reasonable expectations for number of laps completed per grade level:
k-2nd grade: 15 3rd-5th grade: 18

Fundraising Awards will be given to top donors from each grade level !

Please Remember to check with your employer regarding Corporate gift matching.

  • Registration due Tues. Sept. 20th
  • Donations due Friday sept. 30th
