SESI Midwestern Entrepreneurship Conference 

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. WE WILL TAKE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF WALK-INS FRIDAY MORNING STARTING AT 8;30 AM.

 

Join us for the Sesi Midwest Entrepreneurship Conference, presented by the Eastern Michigan University College of Business on February 8, 2013 at the EMU Student Center. Arrivals at 8:30 am will be greeted with a continental breakfast. A sit-down lunch will be provided as we listen to the key note speaker.

The Skandalaris Business Plan Competion will also be completed as part of the conference. The event will conclude before 2 p.m.

Breakfast Keynote: Debi Scroggins, owner of Bear Claw Coffee, a chain of 14 franchise coffee houses in the Washtenaw county region. Scroggins is an EMU alumnus and was featured in a Detroit TV news video here.

Luncheon Keynote: Kim Schatzel: EMU Provost & Vice President. Schatzel's corporate experience includes more than 20 years of new venture and start-up experience.  This includes serving as Founding President and COO, and later CEO of ICM/Krebsoge, North America's largest powdered metal components manufacturer. Adrian Pittman of the Detroit Creative Corridor Center. DC3 is an economic development organization with a targeted purpose - connecting these assets to enhance the collective potential of Detroit's creative community and grow Detroit's creative economy. Learn more about DC3 here.

Shawn Neal, co-owner of Groove Box Studios in Detroit. GBS involves funneling local musicians through the studio with a signature vibe and sound, helping them finance, produce and promote high-quality recording sessions. Sean graduated from EMU in 1994. Learn more about GBS here.

Ben Wilcox of Exconresources.com, an organization designed to enable academic and ultimately, life success for ex-convicts.

Angela Barbash of Reconsider (financial services.) Reconsider scrutinizes the traditional aspects of investing and money management to uncover better solutions for Americans looking to achieve a more secure economic freedom.

Kelly Koester of Koester's Sealcoating, a Monroe-based asphalt sealing company that is family operated. Kelly is an EMU alumnus.
