London's iconic live music & jazz venue 606 Club partners with Chelsea Theatre on Kings Road to present a series of Sunday early evening pop up events in the theatre's intimate café space. These semi-acoustic or acoustic performances feature up-and-coming as well as established artists, in a range of styles from jazz to folk, soul, Latin, blues and indie.
A limited but tasty range of food items will be available, including starters, sweets and mains such as the 606 Club's popular sausage & mash. Beer, wine, tea, coffee and soft drinks will also be on sale. Please note that there is no requirement to eat in order to attend the show or consume alcohol.
Booking is advised though tickets will also be available on the door on a first come, first served basis. All payments will be collected on the night.
SUNDAY 17 JANUARY: KIZZY CRAWFORD
A Welsh speaker with Bajan heritage, nineteen-year old singer/songwriter Kizzy Crawford's solo career began just three years ago. In that time, Kizzy has already gotten recognition for her work with airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru as well as live TV performances on S4C, Children in Need for BBC 1 and the 6 Nations advert campaign. She won the 'Brwydr Y Bandiau' at the National Eisteddfod 2013, as well as a Welsh Singer-Songwriter competition, receiving money to record her first EP 'Temporary Zone' with Amy Wadge (signed to BDI Music and Ed Sheeran/Lewis Watson co-writer). Kizzy was also a featured guest with pianist Gwilym Simcock on the BBC Radio 4 music series, “Playing the Skyline”.
Kizzy’s busy performance schedule includes appearances at the National Assembly for Wales during WOMEX, London Jazz Festival supporting Sarah Gillespie, Swn Festival, Hay Festival, Festival No 6, Dinefwr Festival, the Plaid Cymru Conference, Glastonbury, Wakestock, Abergavenny Food Festival (where she performed her single Golden Brown live on BBC Radio 4) and a tour of Canada in 2014.
Kizzy was also named a BBC Horizons “Artist of the Year”, which sees her playing various BBC events and radio sessions including a live session at BBC Maida Vale and a showcase at the House of Commons, Westminster alongside Cerys Matthews.
