Join us for an exciting weekend in Portland, OR. This year's program will be centered around "Fruit Beer and Ciders". Our technical session presenters include: Abe Goldman Armstrong (History of Cider), Nat West (Making Cider), Nick Gunn (Making Cider), Tim Cohan (Best Practices for Fruit Additions to Beer), Chris Sarles & Kurt Alameda (Fruit Processing), as well as two brewer discussion panels.

We have also added the Brewing Mircobiology & Laboratory Methods Workshop, presented by Dr. Gudrun Vogeser (coordinator of the European Brewery Convention Microbiology working group and founder of PIKA Weihenstephan). Cost is $100 per person for the two-day workshop, all materials are included.
Participants will learn the following:
- How to equip a laboratory, beginning with the most basic equipment right up through advanced tests like PCR (polymerase chain reaction)
- How to devise a sampling plan for routine process control, including examples of how various breweries handle contamination events
- Use of different enrichment methods for the detection of beer contaminants
- How to process samples and correctly interpret the results
- Staining methods, including viability testing for brewer’s yeast
Our hosts for this meeting is Craft Canning & Bottling and Imperial Yeast. Our Friday nigth social event will be held at Imperial Yeast. Shuttles will be provided to/from the event.
Brewery tours will be offered on Friday morning at Breakside Brewery and Bridgeport Brewing. Imperial Yeast will also be offering tours of their lab and facilities. Please click the "Register Now" link for additional details.
Meeting location is at the DoubleTree by Hilton on NE Multnomah. Meeting hotel is full at this time. The Residence Inn on NE Multnomah, Courtyard by Marriott on NE Wasco, and the Quality Inn on NE Multnomah have rooms availble and all of these hotels are within a matter of blocks from the DoubleTree.

Disc Golf - Doug Hodges from Portland Brewing has offered to run a disc golf game Friday morning. If you are interested in playing, please meet at the Pier Park on North Lombard Street at 10am.

*Vendor Hospitality Suite Fee - please note that due to the increased costs of this fall meeting, we have needed to raise the vendor fee to $50. We greatly appreciate all of our vendors and are grateful for the additional assistance this fee brings to the District.
All registration fees will increase by $20 after September 25th. There are multiple payment options - credit card via PayPal, send a check or pay at the door (we will be accepting credit cards at the door).
Everyone is encouraged to bring 4-6 cases of beer for the hospitality suite.
