Experience the creative dynamics and energy of a day of a two-hour workshop in the 1830's kitchen at Old Austerlitz. Three workshops daily will be offered during this innovative weekend event.
Learn how to prepare and cook fare using recipes and herbs from the 1830's in two-hour sessions. This is a UNIQUE, HANDS-ON learning experience that will familiarize you with the wonderful possibilities that period cooking can offer. We will fire up the hearth and oven and prepare food selections that we will then enjoy communally at table. Lavada Nahon brings foodies together through anecdotes, historical background information, a great sense of humor and delicious culinary creations.

All sessions will include information on how to cook with herbs, and historic and modern methods for preserving and storing herbs.
Using seasonal and historically/regionally appropriate herbs and other ingredients, prepare period fare using the cooking and baking techniques of the 1830's-40's in our Old Kitchen. Taught by hearth cooking and food expert, Lavada Nahon. Limited to 10 participants. Cost $25.
