Leslie Nichols

Award-Winning Visual Artist and Art Instructor

Leslie Nichols is an award-winning artist who uses found and original text to create imagery. She is well known for her works created on manual typewriters, which are featured in Typewriter Art: A Modern Anthology by Barrie Tullett published by Laurence King in 2014 and The Art of Typewriting by Ruth Sackner and Marvin Sackner published by Thames and Hudson in 2015. Nichols has displayed works in over one hundred exhibitions at venues including the Huntsville Museum of Art, the Carnegie Center for Visual and Performing Arts, and the Evansville Museum. Her work is in the following selected public collections: the Sackner Archive of Visual Poetry, H&R Block’s world headquarters, and Liquitex.

Leslie earned a BFA in painting from Fontbonne University and an MA from Western Kentucky University focusing in gender and women's studies. She maintains her studio in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Jenny K. Brown has over 20 years of experience in leadership and management roles, which has included supporting both Corporate Executives as well as Small Business Owners. With experience in entertainment/theatre, fitness, retail, and restaurant industries and working with corporate giants like Chick-fil-A, Walt Disney World, Bath & Body Works, and Dollywood, Jenny has a diverse background from which she pulls valuable lessons on how to succeed in both business and personal life. Jenny now coaches individuals and teams on how to be more productive and lead more balanced lives through conversations around discovering purpose, leveraging strengths, and utilizing SMART action plans. Jenny has been studying the Color Code for several years, and is now certified as an Independent Trainer. Dr. Bahby Banks is a widely sought after motivational speaker and program evaluation consultant residing in Durham, North Carolina.  Her professional experiences have afforded her the opportunity to work on a variety of federal, state and local initiatives, as well as efforts with non-profit organizations in Europe, South America and Africa.  Her contributions include research conducted at the World Health Organization, Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, Instituto Promundo and prestigious universities in the United States. As owner of Pillar Consulting, LLC, Dr. Banks continues to work with non-profit organizations to guide inquiry, build capacity and assess effectiveness of their programs.

 

Dr. Banks received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Boston University School of Public Health and her Doctorate of Philosophy in Health Behavior and Health Education from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. She was an Emerging Leader in Public Health Fellow, a Cyril O. Houle Emerging Engaged Scholar and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications focusing on factors influencing rural, racial and ethnic participation in clinical trials.
