EUROPESV "BYOB" MEETING

(Bring Your Own Breakfast)

Thursday, May 7, 2020

9:00 - 10:00 AM

Online Event

Register Now!Dear EuropeSV Member,

Although we had hoped to celebrate Europe Day with you in person, we won't let the Shelter In Place stop us from marking the occasion together. That said, let us celebrate Europe Day together at our next EuropeSV meeting, displaying the flags of our respective countries (extra credit for displaying the EU Flag).

Please RSVP and join us via videoconference on Thursday, May 7 at 9 AM.

Throughout the pandemic, we have been keeping an eye on the European Green Deal, which at least 17 EU member states have said "must be central to a resilient recovery after COVID-19." The European Green Deal and its €100 billion Investment Plan aim to make Europe carbon-neutral by 2050. Please stay tuned for EIT Silicon Valley Hub's European Green Deal Web Series, which will dive into various aspects of the plan as they apply across EIT's various Knowledge Innovation Communities (KICs) and between Europe and Silicon Valley.

At the EuropeSV meeting, we are pleased to have Jim Clarke speak on the NGIatlantic.eu Project.

Jim is the EU Strategic Liaison Manager at Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) in Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), based in Ireland.

The NGIatlantic.eu project answered the Horizon 2020 call for a Research and Innovation Action (RIA) project in the EU-US collaboration on Next Generation Internet call in the EU's H2020 programme. The purpose of this RIA is to fund open calls for EU innovators to carry out NGI related experiments with a US team on experimental platforms (either EU or US experimental platforms, or both). 80% of its 3.5M-euro budget will be used to fund 5 open calls between January 2020 and June 2022. The first open call is currently running between April 1 and May 29.
NGIatlantic.eu is implemented by a consortium of five partners, from Europe and the US: the Waterford Institute of Technology (Ireland, project coordinator), Trust-IT (Italy), EURESCOM (Germany), Rutgers University (USA), and University of Utah (USA).

Looking forward to connecting with you!
