Skilled leaders are the main reason that Great Books discussions are so satisfying. That’s why GBSF offers an annual opportunity to learn how to develop and polish both your reading and your leading skills with other bookies in a friendly workshop setting.
This year’s Leader-Reader Workshop will be held online on Saturday, July 9. We will discuss methods, practice techniques, and share questions and concerns about how best to lead engaging and productive discussions using Shared Inquiry. You will learn to be a more effective leader if that’s your goal, but in the process you will become a better reader because you will approach material from a different perspective – you’ll become an active reader, reading more deeply than before.
We will begin at 10 am and end by 4 pm, with a 90 minute break at noon for lunch and for chatting with other participants if desired.
This virtual workshop will include reading materials, friendly practice sessions, tips for leading effectively in the Zoom era, and lots of time to ask questions.
