Protecting Pennsylvania's Cultural Heritage
2016 Symposium

Join members of the emergency management and cultural heritage communities from across the state to continue the discussion of how to best protect our State’s cultural materials in the event of a disaster. Speakers will include leaders from regional Alliance for Response Networks, representatives from state offices, and experts from the disaster preparedness field.

This symposium offers a unique opportunity to network with state and local partners to better improve your institution’s emergency preparedness, response, and recovery!

  • Tour the brand new Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) Emergency Operations Center with PEMA Central Area Director, Fred Boylstein.
     
  • Join us for panel discussions with state Cultural Response Team members and regional disaster planning leaders.
     
  • Opportunity for respirator fit testing* and demonstration.
     
  • Lunch will be provided.

Funded through an Institute of Museum and Library Services National Leadership Grant, the goal of the Pennsylvania Cultural Resilience Network (PaCRN) is to create a strong network and provide resources for effective emergency response and recovery for cultural institutions in Pennsylvania.  Training, relationship-building, and Commonwealth-wide policy development will be the primary focus of this two-year initiative.
