Understanding Substance Use and Alcohol Addiction

Wednesday, April 6, 2022

1:00 p.m- 4:30 p.m. (EST)

For some survivors of domestic violence, alcohol and substance use is a way to cope with the emotional, mental, and physical impacts of trauma. Domestic violence survivors who struggle with addiction experience a wide array of challenges that often require a team of resources, support, and advocacy to overcome.

Join us for this informative training, where we will discuss the contributing factors that lead to alcohol addiction and substance abuse, the intersections with domestic violence and trauma, and resources to aid survivors on their road to recovery. Participants will gain a better understanding of the biology of alcohol abuse and substance addiction and learn strategies to center the survivor's needs while providing trauma-informed advocacy and linkage to resources.
