Adult Mental Health First Aid

Thursday, October 27, 2022

9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. (EST)

Mental illness and substance abuse are common impacts of domestic violence victimization. Unfortunately, for the many survivors navigating mental health concerns and substance use disorders, support can feel nearly impossible to find due to stigma and obstacles to treatment. Mental Health First Aid is a crucial training for domestic violence advocates, as it teaches how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders.

Join ODVN for this training opportunity, where you will learn how to identify common signs of mental illness and substance use, interact with survivors in crisis, provide initial support, and connect survivors to the appropriate care. Attendees will leave this training with important information, resources and strategies to support a survivor-driven approach for survivors living with mental illness and substance use disorders.
