Professional Progress Workgroup
You're invited to connect with our community of Leaders and Learners!
A teacher’s formal education in child development or early childhood education has an impact on children’s school readiness. When teachers have some formal education such as a Child Development Credential (CDA), professional certificate, or child-related college credits, they are more prepared to intentionally support children’s learning through high quality interactions. The second standard in Virginia Quality measures the education and qualifications of program staff.
This workgroup will help you become familiar with the indicators of quality assessed as part of Level 2 in Virginia Quality. It will also introduce professional development opportunities for you and your staff, support the development of a staff training plan, and clear up questions about CDAs, Associate Degree programs, and more.
Attendees will receive a certificate for 8 training hours and support from Virginia Quality Technical Assistance Providers via group sessions and follow up phone calls or on-site assistance.
