This one-day class is designed to provide you with a rapid foundation in the values, benefits, and practices of Agile and Scrum in the shortest amount of time using an active classroom with simulations and interactive team learning exercises. You’ll leave with a solid understanding of what “doing Agile” or “adopting Scrum” really means and be ready to move forward with Scrum in your organization. If you already do Scrum and need to spin up more teams or on-board new employees quickly, this is the class for you.

• Comparing traditional and Agile approaches
• Understanding the roles, events, artifacts, and rules of Scrum
• Visualizing progress with taskboards, burndowns, and burnups
• Creating, ordering, and grooming the product backlog
• Estimating with teams using planning poker & affinity techniques
• Conducting iterative planning and development with Scrum, Kanban, and XP
• Conducting effective standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Working with a Definition of Ready (DoR) and a Definition of Done (DoD)

    PRESENTER: Pat Arcady is a leadership architect. She coaches leaders and works with teams to increase employee engagement, team alignment, and collaboration.  Her work integrates core principles from three key knowledge areas: the agile movement, conflict resolution and mediation, and the new brain research.  Pat’s mission is to guide teams and leaders in creating dynamic work places where people are engaged, productive, and innovative. Pat earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Memphis, an MS from Miami of OH, and a BA from Marian University in Indianapolis.
