Co-Founder of KIVA
and Author
Jessica Jackley is a social entrepreneur focused on empowering entrepreneurs in the US and around the world. Jessica is co-founder and former Chief Marketing Officer of KIVA, the world's first peer-to-peer microlending website. KIVA lets users lend as little as $25 to poor entrepreneurs around the world, providing affordable capital for them to start or expand microenterprises. KIVA is one of the fastest-growing social benefit websites in history, and has loaned more than $880 million from lenders to entrepreneurs across 206 countries since its founding in 2005.
An accomplished and innovative businesswoman, Jessica currently teaches Social Entrepreneurship at the Marshall School of Business at USC. An independent consultant on social impact initiatives, she is an investor and advisor with the Collaborative Fund. Recently Jessica also served as Walt Disney Imagineering's first Entrepreneur in Residence, focusing on projects related to corporate citizenship, the sharing economy, and happiness.

The Distinguished Leaders Lecture Series and Luncheon is a program of Houston Christian's George and Barbara Bush Center for Scholars and Leaders. This series brings men and women who have made significant contributions as leaders or in the study of leadership to the HC campus to speak with our students and community visitors.
Proceeds from the luncheon will support the Distinguished Leaders Lecture series and Houston Christian High School's unique “Passport to Lead” leadership development program.
