Online meetings will use Zoom online meeting software, which is free to download and use. This platform allows for collaboration, so it will not be a sit and listen webinar. All participants will be able to share documents, pictures, and see & talk to one another. You will need a computer or headset with microphone to participate. A web-camera is preferred, but optional.
There will be practice and demonstration of how to download and use the software the last 15 minutes of the first session.

Course Description:
BOSTnet’s Literacy series is designed to take OST programs through a step-by- step process to develop a literacy-rich program environment that supports literacy development in alignment with EEC’s QRIS and Core Competencies, the new Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and WIDA standards, and seminal research including the report “Turning the Page: Refocusing Massachusetts for Reading Success”. BOSTnet’s Literacy Capacity Assessment Tool and supporting system, used throughout the series to guide program self-assessment and learning, aligns with the standards and best practices above. Each session explores a different facet of these essential resources, tools and best practices related to literacy development. Sessions include: Understanding Children’s Learning Needs, Addressing the Literacy Needs of ELL and Special Needs Learners, Aligning with the Curriculum Frameworks and WIDA Standards, Partnering with Schools, Family Literacy, Multicultural Literacy, Creating a Programmatic Culture of Literacy, Thematic Curriculum and Project Based Learning, Infusing Literacy into OST, and Summer Learning.
If you complete all 10 sessions you are elibiable to request and cover the cost of the 2.5 CEU through BOSTnet
