Family Child Providers Working Toward QRIS Level 2
Session I – An Introduction to QRIS: What is the purpose of QRIS? Participants will discuss quality improvement, their current strengths and how they can improve. We will also look at Level 2 and the requirements and review the QRIS information on the EEC website.
Session 2 - Understanding the Individual Standards and Required Professional Development: Participants will review the QRIS standards with guidance handout. We will also discuss professional development needed for QRIS, degrees and the CDA and why it is necessary to update your PQR. Where to find the courses you need. I addition, we will discuss how this ties into your IPDP and PPDP.
Session 3 – Overview of the program assessment tools: Participants will discuss the FCCERS, the BAS, and The Strengthening Families tools. We will do an overview of each tool, where you can find training, and how to score the tool. We will also discuss how using the results of these tools help develop the Continuous Quality Improvement Plan.
Session 4 – Supporting Documentation:
Using the QRIS Standards with Guidance we will discuss what documents are needed, how to format those documents and how to put them together for submission. We will also discuss reflecting on demonstrating these practices on an ongoing basis and review courses needed and Level 2 checklist for progress.
The Business Plan:
Participants will be asked to bring their mission statements to review with the group. We will highlight why a mission statement is important and how to write one. We will also talk about the key components of a business plan and why you should consider yourself a ‘small business owner'.
