Small groups are a part of every congregation from committees to choirs. Yet, they are often overlooked as a place to grow in community, in support and in Scriptual awareness. This workshop will offer ways to start, add, and reorient small groups in any size congregation. The result can be a "Growing Place" spiritually, pastorally, and numerically.
FACILITATOR: JOHN WEBER Pastor John M. Weber... is a retired ELCA pastor. He was the Mission Developer for Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City, Georgia and served as the lead pastor of the congregation for 35 years. He served as an Evangelism Partner for the ELCA for 12 years, leading workshops throughout the ELCA on Evangelism and Small Group Ministry. During that time, he was a co-author and presenter for the "Mid-size Transformation Project," which presented workshops in 62 of the ELCA Synods, designed to help small and midsize congregations grow. His love for Evangelism has always been a central element of his ministry and Small Groups were vital to his ministry.
