Local Bites:
Market Crawl and Cooking Class
with Chef Tyson Amick

Monday, June 23, 2014
10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Fred and Alice Stanback Coastal Education Center, Wrightsville Beach

Join Chef Tyson, head chef at Aubriana’s Restaurant, for Local Bites: Market Crawl and Cooking Class.  The program will begin at the federation's Coastal Education Center and proceed with a short walk to the Wrightsville Beach Farmers' Market to meet and eat with vendors and pick up a few items. Next, it’s off to Mott’s Seafood Market -- the place Wilmington’s top chefs know to go for fresh North Carolina seafood. At Mott’s, participants will view the selection, get seafood prep tips from the pros and learn how to select fish and shellfish. Finally, the tour returns to the Coastal Education Center for a class taught by Chef Tyson, who will provide an engaging lesson in preparing and cooking a healthy, locally-sourced and delicious meal.

Each Local Bites program is limited to 8 people. The event is $65 per person and requires individual participants or families to join the Culinary Adventures Cooking Club for $25. A club membership covers all 2014 cooking classes and workshops and a 1-year supporting membership to the N.C. Coastal Federation. All proceeds will benefit the federation's education programming.

Local Bites programs will be offered every Monday from June to August. Please visit our website www.nccoast.org to register for additional programs.
