SCBWI Marin County Meeting / Thursday, April 18th, 7-9 pm / Award Winning Author Ginger Wadsworth 

Join us to hear Ginger Wadsworth share her writer's story about her latest book just being released, Yosemite's Songster,  published by the Yosemite Conservancy, illustrated by Daniel San Souci. (For those who came to our Fall 2012 Conference, Daniel was one of our faculty members.) Yosemite's Songster is the gripping story of one coyote's search for his mate throughout the spectacular Yosemite Park. This book will not be available to the trade until August 2013. This is your early peek at this wonderful story.

Plus hear about her award winning book,The First Scout, and its first year out on the shelves. Did you know that the Girls Scouts is the largest volunteer organization of women of over 3 million?

We will be holding a book signing for Girls Scouts of every age earlier in the day at the BOOK DEPOT, 4PM, April 18th, if you would like to join. Wear your uniform!

Ginger is well published in non-fiction and historical fiction for young readers. In our meeting she will describe the Common Core Curriculum and the impact on your writing.

Her fiction includes Camping with the President, a delightful story about what it would have been like to camp with Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir. This book is another award winner. About Ginger 
Ginger is a true California girl. Born and raised in the beautiful state, she loves nature, the ocean, the forests, the animals, the incredible sunsets, the redwood trees, the history --- all the wonderful things that her books are about. Plus she was a girl scout!

She is a self-professed research junkie, not seeking rehabilitation, but more research and file boxes. Despite her predilection for research, she managed to publish 25 nonfiction books, and many others are still waiting to find that perfect home. She is one of the best miners, unearthing golden nuggets for her books, while on a hike with her two golden retrievers, or digging deep in library archives of historical letters, journals and images.
