“When you’re out of cash, you’re out of business” is frequently quoted.

Never has there been a truer statement. Many small business owners have difficulty keeping track of their most important asset, their capital. Whether you’ve been in business for many years or are just starting, this workshop is designed to take the mystique out of reading financial statements, locating start up or additional capital and keeping track of your cash flow. It will be delivered in two parts:

Raising Capital – This workshop will explore how to determine how much money you will need to either start or grow your business. We will discuss, in detail, the three sources of capital… equity, debt and cash flow. You will learn about the various types of lenders and institutions i.e., US Small Business Administration, micro-lenders, credit unions, banks, etc. Step by step instructions will be given on what these financial institutions really look for in an application.
Presenter Lalitha Raman, CPA, SCORE Mentor

Financial Statements and Recordkeeping – Learn the most important aspects of creating and keeping a budget. Discuss the various financial reports including the Balance Sheet, Income (profit and loss) Statement and Cash Flow Analysis. Most importantly, learn to interpret these key indicators. Talk about how to conserve cash, why it’s so important and how to best use it. Determine which records are necessary to maintain and the reasons for them.
Presenter - Rob Gay, SCORE Mentor
