The Dog Days of Summer are here!  If you’re not at the beach, the next best thing is to gather with your colleagues, enjoy the air conditioning, and brainstorm solutions to some of the biggest challenges you are facing at your office.  From time management and limited resources, to managing unrealistic expectations and building media relations in new markets, the Idea Swap will bring together a variety of expertise, anecdotes and good, solid advice.

About the Panel: 

Cecilia Sepp is Consultant & Writer with CS Association Services (www.ceciliasepp.net), a consultancy that supports associations and non-profits in a variety of areas. Her areas of expertise include component relations, communications, volunteer management, and organizational strategy.  She is also is Senior Associate, Strategy & Client Leadership, at Association Laboratory Inc., a leading national firm that specializes in the research and development of business strategy for associations. In addition to leading the DC practice, she specializes in qualitative research and assisting clients in understanding the environmental factors affecting their organizations.

Markette Smith is founder of Eagle Rock Interactive (www.eaglerockinteractive.com), a multimedia production house devoted to producing high-quality interactive content for use on the Web, television, mobile devices and beyond.  She is a multimedia journalist and social media & tech correspondent at CTV News in Prince George’s County, Md.  She is also cofounder and host of the award-winning multimedia blog and television program, DC on Heels (www.dconheels.com), Washington, D.C.’s premiere entertainment blog covering everything food, fashion & fun in the nation’s capital.

NEW PANELIST - Arlene Hill is currently Director of the Kogod Center for Career Development at American University's Kogod School of Business (www.american.edu/kogod). When illness ended her first career as a musical theater actor in Chicago, she became fascinated by how people make transitions particularly in their careers, and earned a MA with a focus in adult learning and development. She has helped thousands of students and clients successfully manage their careers on issues ranging from networking, transitioning to new fields, re-entering the workforce after motherhood, to thriving in a multi-generational work environment.
