Celebrity Chefs Compete in Culinary Cook-Off Competition

envIRONmental CHEF homegrown event focuses on local foods

Celebrating the abundance of locally grown and produced foods in Central New York, the area's finest chefs will go head-to-head in cook-off challenge competitions of entrees and desserts. Don Agate of The Krebs and Chris Kuhns of Phoebe’s Restaurant will challenge last year’s champion chefs:  Joelle Mollinger of Joelle’s French Bistro and Wayne Cafariella (sitting in for Ellen Leahy) of bc. The chefs will create dishes using local ingredients and one mystery ingredient revealed at the start of the timed competition. Sous-chefs, selected by random drawing from Patron level attendees, will assist the chefs with their creations.

Participating in the Dessert Challenge will be Abigail Henson of Lost & Fondue, Allyson Landon of The Sherwood Inn, and Emily Woloszyn of Lune Chocolat.

After everyone has had a taste, the audience will vote and declare the winning Chefs.

Sampling tables set up throughout the event will be manned by local food producers and growers showcasing locavore products. The list of participants grows daily and includes The Inn Between Restaurant, Stephen Landon, Nelson Farms, Parisa, Patisserie, and The Sherwood Inn. The event sold out last year, so please register soon to hold your place
