Join Habitat for Humanity of Oregon in Eugene for a two-part Mortgage Summit! Each training consists of two half-day sessions.

 Part I: Mortgage Procedures

Session 1: Thursday October 19, 1:30pm – 5:00pm
Session 2: Friday October 20, 9:00am – 12:45pm

For the Mortgage Procedures portion of the summit, Sue Chenevert (see bio below) will train attendees on the procedures affiliates must use to comply with mortgage and lending laws. This training will focus on day-to-day procedures such as RESPA timing, types of fees and tolerances, underwriting, and homeowner selection. Sue will also include a segment on Oregon-specific mortgage laws.

 Part II: Mortgage Innovations

Session 1: Friday October 20, 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Session 2: Saturday October 21, 9:00am – 2:00pm

As the demand for housing increases in Oregon, Habitat for Humanity affiliates are using innovative home sale models to increase their capacity. Attend the Mortgage Innovations training to learn from peers and industry experts on success with mortgage leveraging, land trusts, Federal Home Loan Bank partnerships and the Oregon Bond Program. This segment will include special presentations from Steve Messinetti on the U.S. Council and Dwane Krumme on the new Oregon Unified Mortgage Documents.

About Sue Chenevert

Sue Chenevert, director of the Habitat for Humanity of Louisiana state support organization, has worked with Habitat for 20 years and has 17 years of experience in mortgage lending. She was director of finance and programs for Habitat for Humanity Greater Baton Rouge from 1998 to2007 and has been the Executive Director of Habitat Louisiana for the past eight years. Sue is a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System licensed mortgage loan originator serving Louisiana Habitat affiliates and is eligible for licensure in approximately 40 states. She has originated more than $25 million in Habitat mortgages. Sue has served for four years on Habitat for Humanity International’s Mortgage Procedures and Regulations, or MPAR, team. She holds a Master of Science degree from Louisiana State University.
